First, let's welcome you to our online learning resource, which has been created and maintained by your fellow co-residents. Do not be alarmed by the comprehensive nature of this repository! There is no expectation to have this material learned by intern year, or by the end of residency for that matter. The main goal is that during your overall growth as a resident and transition to becoming a master clinician in your field, you would have enjoyed the process.
So, take a step back, breathe, AND RELAX!!
Below is a quick tour of highlights of the site:
- For summaries of key clinical topics by organ system/specialty, see the 'High Yield' topics here
- For some quick guides on key clinical skills (specifically imaging, POCUS, EKGs), go here
- For a guide to resources related to building your skills as an educator, go here
- For more in-depth exploration of clinical topics and board review, go here and here
As you navigate the site, here are a few tips to keep in mind:
- No matter where you are in residency, do not hesitate in going back to the "INTERN YR and ROTATION" tabs for foundation learning
- The "HIGH YIELD Topics for Mastery" Videos are truly HIGH YIELD
- The videos in the PGY-3 tab are for BOARD REVIEW (so does this mean you shouldn't watch them until reviewing for boards? is it more detail than you would normally need to know? or less? - Marc)
- Repetition builds memory, which means that you may require multiple revisions to truly understand a topic
- Add the website to your "FAVORITES " tab for easy access on all platforms (smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop)
- Challenge yourself to learn something new each day, and that doesn't have to be sitting down and watching videos, listening to podcasts or reading articles/books for hours
- There is a resource for every kind of learner
