The four-vector theorem for inverse tridiagonal matrices and a generalization

It is known that the entries of the inverse of a nonsingular irreducible tridiagonal matrix can be represented using four vectors, each of whose entries is nonzero. In this talk, we review this result and present an analogue for a singular matrix.
