Hello! My name is Reese McCuan and I am a student-athlete at Indiana University - Indianapolis pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Forensic and Investigative Sciences - Chemistry Concentration planning to graduate in May of 2026. I have also been a part of the Women's Track and Field team for four years and have had an active role as captain for three of those years. After college, I aspire to become a forensic scientist for a state or private lab in the field of drug chemistry. I am open to living anywhere, even out of the country as I have a love for travel. I have been a member of the Honors College for four years as I received the Chancellors Scholarship coming into school. My portfolio is meant to demonstrate my growth, adaptability, and overall journey as a student-athlete and Honors College member at my time here at IU Indianapolis. Here you will find content on my many projects I have done over the years in the Honors College, my athletic career, and academic career.

Emerging Expertise

Podcast

For my Honors Contract the Spring semester of my sophomore year, I made a podcast about the relation to organic chemistry and forensics.

Internship

The summer of 2025 I spent my time interning at the Illinois State Police Crime Lab in Morton, IL to gain hands-on experience in the career field I wish to pursue.

Ketamine Presentation

For my Honors Contract the Fall semester of my senior year, I completed a PowerPoint presentation on ketamine and its relation to forensic testing and its dangerous affects on society.

Research Capstone

Research on Forensic Internships

My research on forensic interships found across the nation was one of my capstones I completed for the forensic program I'm which includes a spreadsheet of 100+ internships found in the United States and a "How To" guide on how to search for internships in the forensic field. It is accessible to all forensic students at IU Indianapolis as a resource. In addition, I made this part of my Honors Contract for the Fall semester of my junior year by submitting a speech on what I did and how it aids to students and the forensic program.
