September 2, 2025 - KHR Mayor Mayville advises that JP2G Engineering Firm has provided a report on remediation steps for the boat launch. A request for a copy of this report has been made. Copy will be posted when received.

August 28, 2026 - KHR Fire Chief has issued a Level 1 Fire Ban in Killaloe, Hagarty, and Richards. Night time burning of camp fires is permitted as per Burning Bylaw # 28-2021 HERE .
August 8, 2025 - KHR Fire Chief has issued a Level 2 Fire Ban in Killaloe, Hagarty, and Richards. No open flames or fires are permitted. This means no brush fires, campfires, fireworks, or charcoal BBQs. Propane BBQs are permitted. See KHR Website for further information HERE T

August 1, 2025 - Canada Post is changing its policy, but end users have not been advised yet. Effective immediately, Canada Post will no longer be raising flags on mailboxes to indicate when mail has been inserted in it. Rather they will use the "flag up" as an indicator that you have mail to be picked up. See the attached article HERE under signal device. July 8, 2025 - We are looking for someone that has a weather station in the Round Lake Center vicinity to host weather station data to our web site (see the home page). We will assist with the installation and set up. The internet usage is very small approximately 36mb per month. If interested please email RLPOA.Scott.Gardner@gmail.com. June 17, 2025 - Councilor Harold Lavigne advised council that Dean Holly removed the grates June 16, 2025 from the boat launch because they did not extend far enough out in the lake and watercraft trailers were getting hung up on the end of it and a hole was forming where the grates stopped and subsequently the grates were being damaged. Scott Gardner was present at the meeting and asked what was the status of the MNRF permit that Dean Holly was to acquire months prior for a July installation. Council did not have an answer and were going to investigate and advise. See video HERE
June 10, 2025 - Grates have been reinstalled at boat launch.
Jun 6, 2025 - Grates have been removed due to improper installation (proper clips not used between panels) contacting KHR to find out when they are being reinstalled.
May 27, 2025 - Great news our long awaited dock grates have been installed at the Public Boat Launch in Round Lake Center. See the photos HERE thanks again for the donations from Renfrew Power Generation, RLPOA and KHR funding the balance, making our launch more functional.

Cellular Tower Installation
January 26, 2025 - Update on the Buck Hill Road cellular tower project. They are starting to complete the interconnection of the towers. The large round section on the tower is a link (backhaul) connection to another cellular tower.....PHOTO

September 3, 2024 - Scott Gardner and Stan Borutski on behalf of the RLPOA attended a KHR Town Council meeting to request approval for the installation of Invasive Species signage in public locations around the lake. Tax Increase
The Town Council meeting May 21, 2024 passed a 17% increase in municipal taxes for 2024, stating the township is in a deficit position with revenue vs. expenses. Please remember this will be on your property tax portion of your taxes not education etc. Not that it effects lake residence but a 10% increase was also passed on water and sewer ratess as well. Video of mayors announcement of the increase. HERE. This will make a 22% increase in taxes in two years. Additionally, Council approved a 3% increase in wages with the Mayor waiving his increase.
