Let us pray that nations move toward effective disarmament, particularly nuclear disarmament, and that world leaders choose the path of dialogue and diplomacy instead of violence.

St Peter's Square, 1st March 2026 

For the people in the Middle East and in Iran during this tumultuous time.
Following the deeply disturbing news continuing to arrive from Iran and the entire Middle East, we lift up our humble prayer to the Lord, so that the thunderous sound of bombs may cease, weapons may fall silent, and a space for dialogue may open up in which the voice of the people can be heard.  Let us entrust this intention to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace, that she may intercede for those who suffer because of war and lead hearts along the paths of reconciliation and hope.

For women.
Following last Sunday’s International Women’s Day, let us pray for women that are discriminated against and suffer various forms of violence. Let us renew our commitment, which for us Christians is based on the Gospel, to recognize the equal dignity of man and woman.

We pray for the intentions of the Ariëns community:

For our community to be a place where all feel safe, welcomed, and respected.
Where words have wounded and trust has been shaken, You bring healing and peace. Fill our hearts with charity and understanding, and guide us to grow in love and unity.

For the repose of the soul of Sister Amata Lansman.
We pray that she may rest in peace.

For Cardinal Wim Eijk, our Archbishop and the Archbishop of Utrecht.
We pray that his health may be restored and his strength in mind, body, and spirit be renewed,
— Let us pray to the Lord.

For peace in all places of conflict.
We pray for peace in the world, especially in Ukraine, the Middle-East, and parts of Africa torn by violence. We also pray for peace and charity with the people  we encounter in our every day life. Lord Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like unto yours.

My + soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, †

St Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
