For priests in crisis.
Let us pray for priests going through moments of crisis in their vocation, that they may find the accompaniment they need and that communities may support them with understanding and prayer.
— Let us pray to the Lord.
St Peter's Square, during last Sunday's Angelus:
For the peoples of the Middle East.
At the beginning of Holy Week, our prayers are more than ever with the Christians of the Middle East, who are suffering the consequences of a brutal conflict and, in many cases, are unable to observe fully the liturgies of these holy days. Let us raise our prayer to the Prince of Peace that he may sustain the peoples wounded by war and open concrete paths to reconciliation and peace.
— Let us pray to the Lord.
For maritime workers in the conflict.
I also wish to entrust to the Lord the maritime workers who have fallen victim to the conflict. I pray for the deceased, the wounded and their families. Land, sky and sea were all created for life and peace!
— Let us pray to the Lord.
For migrants.
Let us also pray for all the migrants who have died at sea, especially those who lost their lives in recent days off the coast of Crete.
— Let us pray to the Lord.
For guidance.
Let us now turn to the Virgin Mary, entrusting all our prayers to her intercession. May she guide us during these holy days, so that we may follow Jesus, our Savior, with faith and love.
— Let us pray to the Lord.
For Ariëns KSE.
We pray in thanksgiving for the people we meet through Ariëns. May we continue in our enthusiasm to be a group where Catholic students feel at home. Fill our hearts with charity and understanding, and guide us to grow in love and unity. Help us in our efforts to spread the joy of the Gospel.
— Let us pray to the Lord.
For peace in all places of conflict.
We pray for peace in the world, especially in Ukraine, the Middle-East, and the parts of Africa torn by violence. We also pray for peace and charity with the people we encounter in our every day life. Lord Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like unto yours.
— Let us pray to the Lord.
My + soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, †
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior *
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed: †
the Almighty has done great things for me, *
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him *
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm, *
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, *
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things, *
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel *
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers, *
to Abraham and his children for ever.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, *
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, *
and will be for ever. Amen.
St Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
