The following text is a fragment from the foundation's constitution, translated from Dutch to English. The full Dutch text of the constitution ("statuten") can be requested from the board.
1. The foundation aims to offer Catholic students and academics of all nationalities affiliated with the University of Twente (hereinafter referred to as the target group) the opportunity to meet one another and discover and experience the Catholic faith, in the spirit of its namesake, Mgr. Dr. Alfons Ariëns.
Furthermore, the foundation aims to make the Catholic faith and its fruits visible on the University of Twente campus and its immediate surroundings.
Furthermore, the foundation aims to support international students in adjusting to their new environment at the University of Twente.
2. Interested students and academics affiliated with the University of Twente who are not Catholic are occasionally included in the target group too, provided that a positive board decision has been made.
3. The foundation seeks to achieve its goal by organizing activities specifically for the target group. These activities are diverse in nature, including, but not limited to, catechesis, prayer, lectures, diaconal work, and evangelization. In addition, the foundation may unite the target group to jointly participate in or support activities organized by the Archdiocese of Utrecht, parishes, student associations, and other bodies, provided these contribute to the objective stated in paragraph 1.
This objective does not include making payments to the founder(s) or to those who serve on the foundation's bodies.
4. The foundation is a non-profit organisation.
