InSTRUCTIONS

After you log in with your Google account, you will have an interface like the one on the left.
Landscape mode is supported as well by rotating your phone.
 
At the bottom, three main buttons allow you to 

1. EXIT button: exit from the application

2. CAPTURE button: take pictures or switch to other modalities

3. FULL button: enable/disable fullscreen mode

The CAPTURE button is the main tool for collecting data, according to different functionalities.

We are now introducing each single functionality.

By pressing CAPTURE with a single tap, we collect a picture.

In this picture, we can indicate the level of turbidity of the water, as well as the presence of pollutants on the surface, in this specific order.

A novel set of buttons/menus will appear in place of the CAPTURE button. Specifically:

1. UNDO button (top-left button)

2. REDO button (top-right button)

3. UPLOAD button

4. POLLUTION menu

First, we are asked to select from the POLLUTION menu and identify the level of turbidity of the water (among "clean", "turbid" and "very turbid").

Then, we can start indicating on the image where we have the presence of pollutants. For this purpose, we can press on the display and drag our fingers to draw a rectangle.

Once the rectangle is drawn, we open the POLLUTION menu and select the specific type of pollutant we selected from a list. After we select the type, the name will appear near the rectangle. In case we are not satisfied with our rectangle, we can delete it with the UNDO button and try again.


After we have drawn as many rectangles as we want for identifying pollutants, we can upload our picture with annotated pollutants with the UPLOAD button.

By keeping the CAPTURE button pressed, we can switch to some more advanced functionalities, by selecting one of the three icons appearing. The three refer respectively to:

1. Single Picture Capture

2. Dual Picture Capture

3. Video Capture

By selecting Dual Picture Capture, the CAPTURE button will now look show two cameras. Please note this functionality is supposed to collect pictures only in the presence of one of our totems.

After you have placed the phone on our totem in the first collection spot, by tapping over the CAPTURE button it will collect the first of two pictures. Then, the button will now show an arrow, asking you to collect the second picture. Accordingly, you are asked to move your phone into the second collection spot, and then tap again the CAPTURE button to collect the second picture.

You can now proceed by selecting the turbidity level and indicating the presence of pollutants on the first of the two pictures only.

Finally, you can upload your pictures with the UPLOAD button.

By selecting Video Capture, the CAPTURE button will now look like a video camera.

By tapping over it, it will become red: the app is now recording a video for a few seconds (it will automatically stop after 3 seconds)

You can then look at the video you recorded and, optionally, identify the generic presence of one type of pollutant present on the surface (without drawing any rectangle, by simply opening the POLLUTION menu and selecting it)

Finally, you can upload your video with the UPLOAD button.
