*****We currently do not have any kittens, we do hope to breed a couple of girls in the next month. We have a retired breeding girl that is available to a single cat home.*****
Kittens, when available, have had all shots, are microchipped, and are spayed or neutered. Each kitten will go home with 30 days of complimentary insurance for any serious illness or injury. We will work with you to arrange getting your kitten or retiree. Our goal is to produce a kitten for you that we would be proud to keep for our selves. It is very difficult to put a price on our babies. We are there when they are born, we carefully raise them to be cherished pets, first and foremost. We are a small cattery and only expect to have a few litters a year. Our Queens and their kittens receive the best care that we can possibly give them prior to them going to your home. Kittens will be between 16 weeks and 4 months old when they are ready to leave. And no, if we must delay spay/neuter due to illness we will not let you take an un-spayed/un-neutered kitten home. It is our obligation to ensure that kittens are spayed/neutered and healthy when they go to your home to give them the absolute best chance to adjust. This is non-negotiable! I have found that the additional time is necessary to provide you with the well socialized kitten that you want and that we wish to be known for. We will provide a copy of our pet contract upon request. Many of our pet kittens are showable, be sure to let us know if you may be interested in showing one of our kittens.
Many people are drawn to Ocis because of them being "hypoallergenic". They are not. There is no such thing. Their short, tight coat tends to bother some people much less, myself included. Their saliva enzymes are quite high so if that is what you react to then you may well react to an Oci. There are several products on the market that benefit those with allergies. Purina makes a product called Live Clear. This is a dry food that has proven to be a blessing for families with allergies. There is also a product called Pacagen. This is an additive to the food and canned be used with any wet diet. For families with potential allergies we offer a service. You send us t-shirts belonging to each family member with possible or known allergies. You also send a prepaid mailer in with the shirts. We will place the shirt(s) out where the cats can sleep on them for up to a week, then we will return it (them). The owner is to wear it unwashed for up to 6 hours and, after rubbing their hands on the shirt rub their faces. If they are okay with any reactions then we may proceed. We do not take deposits any longer, we add you to the wait list and will let you know if and when we have a kitten available for you that meets your wishes as far as color and gender. The more specific your requests are regarding the colors and genders the longer the wait time may be. We breed show quality kittens and will be assessing which kittens have the best potential to be shown since that is the main purpose of out hobby.
We are having to go up on our prices. While our adults are raw fed, we feed high quality, grain free, wet food to kittens since many of our potential owners do not wish to feed raw. The prices have gone up by between $10.00 and $20.00 a case. A case of kitten food generally lasts 3 - 4 days. The cost of vaccines has gone up quite a bit as well.
We feed both high quality wet food and raw food. All raw is ordered from companies that try to adhere to the best sanitary standards to provide the best food that we are able. The wet foods that we feed come from Weruva or Koha. We feed single protein foods and try to avoid fish in wet food since fish is a common allergen in cats. As far as dry goes, we try to restrict dry to growing kittens to give them something to snack on during the day. We feed Orijen Original and Orijen Kitten dry. We also expose the kittens to freeze dried raw as well. All of our kittens are accustomed to using World's Best Cat Litter for picky cats. We do not recommend the use of standard clay litter. Covered litter boxes can be a bit intimidating for some cats. Although quite expensive as far as the initial investment, ModKat makes excellent litter boxes that we recommend whole heartedly and we use them ourselves.
We recommend ordering raw food from Hare Today-Gone Tomorrow
and Raising Rabbits
