What can we say about Georgia?
The Lord told us Savannah on January 30, 2023. Before heading to Savannah, the Lord told us we were going to several locations in Georgia and that we would only be staying a week or two in each location --- a quick in and out. It wasn't until after we were in Savannah that He shared the other locations we would be going to. Each location was different with the people we met, the churches we attended, and with the prayers God had us praying.
We still remain in awe and wonder how much more the Lord has to offer and how He continues to build our faith throughout this step-by-step journey. Often times, the Lord waits a few days before He reveals His plan to us. However, He always does reveal it... even if it's at the midnight hour. It's been pretty remarkable the encounters that "just happen" as we are doing everyday life. We are so incredibly blessed to get the opportunity to experience God in greater dimensions than we've ever expected. All Glory to God alone!
1st stop - Savannah: The Lord had us praying for several hours around the courthouse for specific areas in the government. The Lord also shared with us about the serious dangers of certain tours that so many people consider as harmless entertainment. The following day we discovered the history of Savannah, which had confirmed the prayers the Lord had us praying.
2nd stop - Augusta: First night at our new campsite, we spent some time praying. The only thing the Lord said to us was, "Rest and trust, and trust and rest." We love how He brings such peace in our questioning.
Met two amazing couples during our time there ---one couple in a local church (Tom and Lynn W.). Tom is so hungry for the Lord's more concerning his and his wife's life. We can't wait to learn what's next for this incredible couple. The other couple (Tommy and Julie H.) we met at our campground on the day we were leaving. Not only did we get to share and pray with each other, we exchanged information to stay connected. It's amazing how God sets up those divine appointments. He is so Good and so perfect in all of His ways!
3rd stop - Macon: After grocery shopping, we walked to our truck and began loading our groceries. As we began to load the truck, we turned around and a man was standing right there. He apologized for startling us. He (S.B.) shared with us that he was homeless and asked if we could spare anything at all. I was immediately reminded about the $5 I had in my wallet, but I was a little leery giving it to him. Vic asked if he would like some bottles of water (temp was over 100 degrees that day), and he was extremely grateful for the waters we had given him. I then felt released to give him the $5 also. He was so appreciative of the water and the money. He allowed us to pray for him and he turned and rode off. He had appeared and disappeared just as quickly. The Lord immediately reminded me of a couple of scriptures: Hebrews 13:2 and Matthew 25:40-45. It's all about being obedient.
4th stop - Bainbridge: As we made our way down south, we weaved in and out between Georgia and Florida. While our campground (East Bank) was in Georgia, we were less than a mile from the town of Chattahoochee where there is loads of history. During our time there, we were given the wonderful opportunity to share God's goodness and pray with two locals: Ferris and Christacea.
As is our usual when we arrive in a new location, we always pray where the Lord wants us to go to church. There are times it is for us to share with one or more people in that church and sometimes it is for us to be refilled. This time we knew it was for us. The local church we attended had the feeling of home, which is exactly what we needed. They welcomed, loved on, encouraged, and prayed blessings over us beyond our expectations. They truly displayed God's heart to us. We will never forget them.
