The River Falls High School RoboCats 2025 "First" Competition Robot

Participating in LEGO Leagues and Robotics competitions offers kids valuable skills in STEM, creativity, and teamwork. 

In elementary school-age LEGO Leagues, children design and program robots to solve challenges, fostering hands-on learning and innovation. 

The VEX and FIRST Robotics Leagues are dedicated to and hands-on education focusing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). It represents an educational and professional focus on these four interconnected fields, emphasizing hands-on learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

In the River Falls School District (RFSD), there are clubs for different age groups:

• Robotics RoboCats for the River Falls High School

• VEX League for Meyer Middle School

• LEGO Leagues for Elementary School-Age Children

RFP Montessori FLL

Rocky Branch FLL

Westside FLL

RF Homeschool FLL

Robotics competitions enhance these skills by adding strategic thinking and real-world problem-solving, while emphasizing collaboration and communication.

Both programs build technical abilities and essential life skills, such as leadership, perseverance, and adaptability, preparing students for future academic and career success.

We invite all children in grades K-12 in the River Falls School District area to join one of our teams based on their grade level. But we need coaches as we form teams for younger children (K-3); if you are interested in forming a team for kindergarten through third grade, contact the River Falls Robotics Booster Club for more information.

Each year, our teams are given a new challenge each school year to use our STEM education to build a competitive robot. We can compete with teams from all over with our robots. Our students and our team members have a passion to design, code, innovate, build, and most importantly the application of STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). 

Fundraising by the River Falls Robotics Booster Club is crucial for supporting LEGO Leagues and Robotics competitions.

These funds help cover essential costs such as building materials, competition fees, and team resources, ensuring students have the tools they need to succeed.

By raising money, the Booster Club enables teams to participate fully in these enriching activities, which foster STEM skills, creativity, and teamwork.

Fundraising also helps provide necessary equipment and resources, allowing students to focus on learning and innovation.

Additionally, it ensures that all interested students can participate, regardless of financial constraints. This support not only enhances the educational experience but also prepares students for future academic and career opportunities.
