The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has awarded a grant of over $9,000 to the River Falls School District, providing a significant boost to local STEM education and robotics activities. This funding is designed to expand technical opportunities for students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
The grant will support the district’s comprehensive robotics ecosystem, ensuring students have access to high-quality equipment and competition experiences at every level:
Elementary Schools: Enhancing FIRST LEGO League programs to introduce young learners to coding and engineering.
Meyer Middle School: Supporting VEX Robotics kits for more complex design and programming challenges.
River Falls High School: Assisting the RoboCats team with the resources needed for large-scale, competitive robot builds.
By investing in these programs, the DPI is helping River Falls prepare students for high-demand careers in engineering and technology. Participants gain more than just technical knowledge; they develop critical skills in collaborative problem-solving, project management, and resilience.
This state-level support, combined with the efforts of the River Falls Robotics Booster Club, ensures that the district remains a leader in STEM innovation. With these funds, River Falls is well-equipped to inspire the next generation of Wisconsin’s workforce.
