Jackson's Falls & Black River

Jackson's Falls waterfall sits within the privately owned property of River & Falls and is for your exclusive enjoyment during your visit. It has an 80' drop from the run off river above. In the spring lake suckers swim up the river to spawn at the base of the falls, in high summer the water can almost completely stop in the dry weather. In winter the falls become a beautiful ice palace. River & Falls property extends across the falls and creek into the apple orchard meadow beyond. Access to the falls are for the exclusive pleasure during your stay.

Forest pathway leads down to the floating dock and looks over the protected wetlands. The dock is on our inlet, and leads into the environmentally protected Black River. A 45 minute canoe ride down river brings you to the Black River Cheese at the mouth of Lake Ontario. It is a local favourite for ice cream, cheeses, and local products.

River and Falls is beautiful, in every season. As a family cottage we have particularly loved it in the fall. Even as it approaches winter. Sparking frost and a warm fire can be the perfect cure for city blues.
