Hi, I'm Mrs. Boone!

I am so excited to be your child’s first grade teacher this year! This is my fourth year teaching at Rio Seco and my second year teaching first grade. I have previously taught both 2nd and 3rd grade, and a 5th/6th grade combo class. First grade definitely has my heart!

My husband and I live in Santee with our two sons, Cai and Eli. We are so lucky to have both our boys here at Rio Seco. Cai will be in 8th grade this year and Eli will be in 5th grade. We also have two goofy, giant dogs; Mac (Pit mix) and Gus (Boxer). In our free time we love to go camping, ride our mountain bikes, hike, go to the beach, and play pickleball and soccer. I also love to curl up with a good book and an iced coffee!

First grade is a HUGE year for growth and I feel honored to be a part of your child's school experience. Each day, I strive to create a cooperative and positive learning environment where all students feel included and supported to succeed. Working as a team, we will navigate new math concepts, exciting science explorations, and become stronger readers and writers!

In Room 8, we honor each other's thoughts, feelings, and efforts! We encourage each other and work together to problem solve. I just know that this is going to be an amazing year and I can't wait to get our year together started!
