My role at the Cancer Care Centre involves delivering Level 2 (Award in Counselling Concepts) and Level 3 (Certificate in Counselling Skills) counselling courses.
I was a Lecturer in Counselling at Blackburn College University Centre and taught on the Foundation Degree in Counselling and the BA (Hons) in Counselling. During this time I supported a wide variety of learners to achieve their goals in gaining counselling qualifications, many of whom were mature students who had not studied for many years.
I’m an academic with over 20 years’ experience of teaching and research in Higher Education. I have extensive experience of carrying out research projects and writing research reports in the area of counselling and social science. Hence, I have a wealth of knowledge and practical skills relating to research fieldwork, ethics and research projects.
I have supervised many undergraduate counselling dissertations successfully.
My research papers have been published in peer-reviewed academic journals in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
