DID YOU KNOW THERE WERE 31 STARBUCKS STORES ON THE STRETCH OF BROADWAY IN MANHATTAN? WELL, ON 1/14/2018, WE COUNTED THEM ON OUR HIKE!
12/26/2015 Broadway Hike with Russ, Yue Qin, Kelvin, Owen, Pooja, Mary, David and Renata
This was one meetup for which I was 45 minutes late. I'm rarely late. For this Broadway Hike, we started North and went South. From the McDonald's before the Broadway Bridge to South Ferry.
Took a lunch break at this place before moving on.
Koronet Pizza is bigger than a normal slice of pizza. On Broadway, it's between W110th and W111th Street. Others took their lunch break at this place.
Angela, Russ, Kelvin, Yue Qin, Owen, Pooja, Mary, and Renata (not pictured; took picture?)
I actually never knew about this place but Russ pointed it out and ran across the street to get it. David smirking about using a banana for measure.
6.25.2016 Broadway Hike with Allan, Jeffrey, Nick, Jason, Elizabeth and Emily!
We started the Broadway hike in FiDi, visiting all the hotspots. Broadway is the busiest in Manhattan.
Broadway starts at Bowling Green. Here is the Wall Street Bull.
Trinity Church
The Red Cube in FiDi
Flatiron Building
Times Square characters
Columbus Circle
Crossing the Broadway Bridge into Marble Hill, Manhattan and onto the Land and Sea Restaurant (Diner): the final 5!
And so we DID! Nick even joked that we were not that far from Westchester...and perhaps we should walk more...we truly almost did, but did not...LOL.
I remember at the beginning of the hike, Nick said that he had another meetup in Flushing later in the day and would likely bow out at Grand Central since he didn't think he would be able to walk more than that. I told him before reaching Grand Central area that if he wanted to leave, Grand Central was coming up. Nick decided to keep going...and going...and going...hahahahaha. It's funny to me that a lot of people do not believe the length they can walk. The miles alone are just stats. If you have never walked a long route before, your legs will remember the next time you do! Walking these lengths are not for everyone so I never really pushed people, but simply showed them.
99 cents Pizza is a quick bite! This one is between 54th and 55th on Broadway.
Soft served ice cream is indeed my favorite from the trucks.
Do you see an ice cream cone, too? I think I was delirious at that point. Right before the Broadway Bridge.
Tu Cachapas aka Cachapas Y Mas is a yummy Venezuelan place.
You can't go wrong with $1 mango lassi and $1 Indian food!
Unfortunately, this place closed during the pandemic. This was my go-to diner after Broadway hikes. It had the heart attack burger! But I usually got this instead: steak caesar salad!
