Whether you are looking to enhance your flock's genetics, build a competitive show string, or start your very first farm, Ridgeview Acres offers top-Quality production sheep tailored to your needs.
Ridgeview Acres takes pride in over 40 years of breeding hardy, production-focused Dorsets and Suffolks. Our ewes are bred for high reproductive success and thrive on grass-based systems. Beyond hardiness, we prioritize style and calm temperment. Our rams are accustomed to human interaction throughout most of the year and enjoy frequent scratches and attention when not in the fields for breeding. Our younger rams are typically shown, meaning they receive ample human handling. Our lambing season runs from early September to early December, and then we resume from mid-January to mid-March.
As David often says, "Our sheep are marketed primarily through word of mouth." While our presence at shows has been our traditional foundataion, we've embraced the digital age. Aiden now manages our online outreach as well as personal advertising. While in FFA, Aiden worked with WBTX’s now-retired Jim Snavely to help promote his sheep as part of his proficiency projects on the radio. Aiden is currently working at a Coop in southwestern Virginia to gain more marketing experience and to help get his name out in other parts of the state.
Aiden also interned with Rockingham Coop for his degree in Agriculture Technology. While at Rockingham he was tasked with publishing an infograph on their blog. He decided to use his knowledge on the farm to help teach new sheep farmers about "Getting your flock pasture ready."
While much of our stock is sold locally, then disributed throughout the Northeast, we have shifted our focus to helping breeders diversify their genetics. We are also incredibly proud of our partnership with Stable Craft Brewing. You can find our lamb on their menu in signature dishes like the "Braised Lamb" and the "Farmer Dave." We Highly recommend stopping by for a meal if you're visiting the farm.
If you see our sign at a show or sale, please stop by! We love talking to others about their farms and helping them learn more about our industry. If you have any remaining questions, or if you are reaching our via a Facebook post, don't hesitate to contact us from the numbers at the bottom.
