Started in the late 1970s by David Shiflett, Ridgeview Acres began as a small commercial sheep farm. The farm originated as an SAE project for the Shiflett boys' 4-H club. Later, David's sons wanted to start showing purebred lambs, which kickstarted the farm's growth. Today, Ridgeview Acres is home to 300-400 purebred and commercial sheep, as well as around 70 head of Angus cattle and two commercial broiler houses. 

        Ridgeview Acres is located in the small town of New Hope, situated between Staunton and Harrisonburg, Virginia, and just southwest of Grottoes, we are nestled in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Our farm is surrounded by rolling hills, and a stunning backdrop Blue Ridge Mountains. 

        Ridgeview Acres' owner, David Shiflett, is a former agriculture teacher at two local high schools. After teaching for 18 years, he decided to return home and work full-time on the farm. His days are spent caring for livestock, maintaining well-built antique equipment, and demonstrating an unmatched work ethic. When farm life slows down, he enjoys sitting back and taking pride in a job well done. David Shiflett is also a current school board member for the Augusta County School System. He is always happy to help young people gain knowledge and experience in agriculture.
