Optional enrichment- Look for origins of a couple of our words. Write a little about them. Do they have prefixes/suffixes? What language do they come from?

Do your best to try to find at least one example of figurative language from our list. Rough draft of your summary of your experience in the book so far. I will be giving you feedback and corrections on it next week, so you can make adjustments before handing in a final draft.

D Group- Continue on division; both basic and long division. If you have a parent help you with it, please get them to work a problem with you so I can see their method.
P Group- Decimals with operations & percentage (part from a whole and whole from a part).
E Group- Continuing with estimating square roots, adding/subtracting and BEDMAS with square roots.Â

Read 10 or more pages. Please be sure to complete your reading journal while you are doing this. Prepare for the discussion question for next week. DQ: Name and explain one choice made by the main characters or you in the book that you regret or would change if you could go back. Why?
 Figurative language- Please look for at LEAST one example of figurative language in the book. We discussed these three this week: extended metaphor, symbolism, and metonymy.Â

3. Prepare your thoughts for our DQ (discussion question) Who do you identify more with? Donovan or Waif? Why?Â
