In February 2024 I started learning to ride a motorcycle. There was a minor setback that summer. In November 2025 I got my license. Seven months later I was riding through the highest mountain passes in the world.
On June 15th 2026, our group drove from Delhi to Manali to begin a 14-day motorcycle journey through the Indian Himalayas, riding Royal Enfield Himalayans through remote valleys, river crossings, Buddhist monasteries, and passes that top out above 19,000 feet. This site is the record of that trip, one day at a time.
None of it would have happened without my amazing partner Vanessa Purchase, who supported every step of this and followed the journey for thousands of miles. Thanks to Chris Woodard, whose coaching on the dirt sections kept me upright when the road stopped being a road.
Thanks to the Ride the Himalayas crew and lead riders, who kept eighteen of us fed, moving, and safe across two weeks of some of the most demanding roads on earth. And thanks to the other seventeen riders on the trip, who freely shared tips, pointers, and hard-won experience with a relative newcomer at every stop along the way.
