I have a love for history which is the reason why I have a college diploma in archives. Being a visual type of person, another interest of mine is photography. Putting these two together, it is understandable that I consider myself a documentary photographer. My images tell a story. If a subject can't relay what that story is, it becomes my job to do that. I've always paid attention to detail with dates and history. This holds true with photography. I like telling stories with my images, and do my best to add a little bit of Canada with each one.
My background in photography goes back a few decades when I picked up a 35mm Pentax Super Program to study photography at Fanshawe College in London Ontario. It was a two year program to which I completed the first year that dealt with black and white and the basics of photography. We did develop & print our own negatives and images, composition, rule of thirds, photographic history and different types of lenses and colour filters. The second year was learning colour and large format cameras. The expense for me was too much for me to take on. It hasn't stopped me from pursuiting my passion.
With the film camera used and tired, my family gave me a brand new digital camera as a gift to replace the old camera. Since then, Ive added a lot of equipment to expand and catch up with technology. With speedlites, led panels, studio backgrounds, my images and what i do improved immensely.
Every image i take, I do my best to show what my home country of Canada is. I approach a subject in a unique way that may be completely different than anyone else. I tell a story for the viewer, and hope they can understand the image, or at least come up with their own interpretation.
I reside south east of Ottawa, Canada
