Virginia Ave. & 23rd St.
Virginia Ave. & 23rd St.
23rd Street is one of the City’s primary arterial north-south corridors. In 2012, a road diet on this street created an opportunity for on-street bicycle lanes. Due to high traffic volume and speed, crossing is challenging, especially for children walking to Coronado Elementary School.
Proposed improvements include adding a pedestrian refuge island, painting red curbs on the intersection’s approach, and replacing the flashing beacon with a RRFB.
This intersection is within the Coronado Neighborhood Council.
