The City of Richmond is making our streets safer for people walking, biking, and driving.
The Traffic Safety Improvement projects will design and build improvements at five intersections across the city’s neighborhoods. Building on the direction provided by the Richmond Bicycle and Pedestrian Action Plan and the Local Road Safety Plan, these intersections were prioritized based on community input, crash history, and pedestrian and bicycle safety concerns.
The consultant team met with affected Neighborhood Councils in Fall 2025 to introduce the project, share proposed improvements and gather feedback. This feedback will inform further development of the improvements, which are being shared with community organizations in early 2026.
