Henry Thomas Plant Jr. was born Nov 17, 1889 in Richmond to Henry Thomas Sr. and Violate Whitehead Plant.
In Feb 1929, the Richmond Chamber of Commerce was reorganized into a Lions Club. Under the sponsorship of the Hyrum, Utah Lions Club, the Richmond Lions were organized with J. Morris Godfrey Jr., President; Jessie Webb, VP; Alvin M. Bair, Second VP; Secretary and Treasurer, J. S. Forrester; Lion Tamer, C. S. Hall; Tail Twister, Henry T. Plant Jr.; and Directors James W. Funk, Lyman Hall, Hölger B. F. Olsen, and Charles I. Stoddard. Morris served as the President of the Lions Club until the following year.1
Henry T. Plant Jr. served as the 21st Mayor of Richmond from 1940-1946. Henry Plant is the father of Ross H. Plant, making them the second and most recent father-son Mayors.
He was succeeded by Elmer G. Skidmore.
