George Gideon Hendricks was bron Sep 9, 1875 in Richmond to William Dorris and Mary Jane Andrus Hendricks. George was on the committee to establish the Richmond Library. George served as the 17th Mayor of Richmond.
In June 1912, Herbert A. Adamson presented a petition signed by 67 individuals to the Richmond City Council requesting the construction of a library in Richmond. An election was held about its construction and was in favor 95-12. The city appointed a Board of Directors for the library. Members were Charles Z. Harris, President; Mayor Samuel W. Hendricks, Vice-President; George G. Hendricks, Secretary, with other members James W. Funk, George M. Thomson, Thomas H. Merrill, and Herbert A. Adamson. The Board sent a letter to receive a grant to construct the library, asking for $10,000, but received only $8,000 for its construction, and was approved. The Richmond Carnegie Library was constructed in 1914.
George G. Hendricks served as the 17th Mayor of Richmond from 1922-1928. George Hendricks is the son of William D. Hendricks, the first Mayor of Richmond, making them the first father-son Mayors, and the uncle of Samuel W. Hendricks the 12th Mayor of Richmond, making them the only family trio of Mayors.
He was succeeded by Hölger F. Olsen.
George Gideon Hendricks served as a member of the Utah House of Representative from 1935 - 1936.
George married Susan Ethel Tolbert on June 12, 1901 in Logan, Utah. After he dieath in 1913, George married Metha Marie Christofferson on June 7, 1916. After her death in 1930, George married Esther Cantwell on March 17, 1933. Esther and George ended their relationship in divorce. George married Vilate Mary Jenkins on June 12, 1937. After her death in 1949, George did not remarry.
George fathered nine children, with eight living to adulthood. Some in particular are:

George Gideon Hendricks died Feb 25, 1953 in Richmond. He was buried in the Richmond Cemetery.
