The Albert C. & Emma H. Fisher Home is a historic house located in Richmond. The home was constructed in 1909.
Albert Clarence Fisher was born Feb 8, 1873 in Richmond to William Fredrick and Harriet Ann Hogan Fisher. In 1897, the original three-room home on Harriet's property on the corner of 100 E and 200 S burned down. A home was constructed soon after, though the date when the home was constructed is unknown. However, country records suggest it was constructed in 1912..1 In 1909, Harriet's son, Albert Clarence Fisher, purchased the land east of her home and built his own home.
Albert married Emma Harris on Dec 19, 1900, in Logan, Utah. The property served as a farm for the Fisher family. In 1904, Emma's mother, Emeline Whittle, moved into an apartment in the home.2 In 1927, Albert was severely injured while working on the farm and died from the injuries on Aug 20. However, Emma was able to continue working and provide for their four children.
"Mothers life was her home, her children, her grandchildren and friends. She loved her home. She loved to entertain. Being a wonderful cook, and hostess some of our most happy memories are the delicious, happy, fun time family dinners, with perhaps twenty or more gathered around the table. After the dinner we all gathered around the piano and sang songs. The smaller children would enter in by showing off their talents. Mother was so proud of her family and we all lover her so."
Emma died Oct 10, 1950 from a heart attack at home.2 The home was passed to Emma's daughter, Alice Marguerite Fisher, and her husband, Bascom Perryman DuBose. It is unclear if they lived in the home, as soon after the birth of their children, they moved to Boise, Idaho. After Bascom died in 1980 and Alice died in 1988, the home was passed to their children, Parryman Fisher and Mary Alice DuBose, who rented the home. After Parryman's death in 2003 and Mary's in 2016, the home was sold to the current homeowners in 2019.
