Rozina Shepard was born Jan 21, 1829 in Denmark, New York to Isaac Monroe and Sarah Lackore Shepard. Rozina is a Pioneer of Richmond.
When Rozina was young, the Shepard family joined the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They moved to Ohio and Illinois with the Saints. In 1847, while preparing to move west, Rozina's mother died. Because she was the oldest, Rozina had to take care of her younger siblings. The exact company that the Shepard family joined to cross the plains is unknown, but they made it in 1848.
On Jan 7, 1849, Rozina married Albert Knapp in Salt Lake City, Utah and had six children before divorcing sometime between 1859-1860. She moved to Cache Valley with her children, where her father and brothers had founded Richmond.
On November 1, 1862, Rozina married Frederick Nelson Francis. They had two children together before his passing in 1868. Rozina married a final time to Christian Larsen Hyer on Feb 9, 1869. They had two children together.
Rozina Shepard died on Oct 23, 1882 in Richmond. She was buried in the Richmond Cemetery.
