I am a creative writer shaped by different sensibilities— emotional and intellectual. I am a deeply intuitive person, drawn to the psychological textures of human relationships: love and memory leading to self-discovery. My work moves between poetry and fiction, both reflective and language-driven. I am the author of Seasons in Love, a poetry collection, and Nestled in Love, a short story anthology—both rooted in the quiet complexities of connection and inner life.
My writing is guided by a dual impulse: to dissolve and to shape. I am drawn to Keats' idea of the writer as a chameleon—inhabiting lives, emotions, and perspectives beyond the self. I strongly resonate with Brecht's belief in the power of writing to actively shape reality rather than merely reflect it. This tension between surrender and agency informs both my creative voice and my thematic concerns.
I find myself shaped by nature—especially water. Rain, in particular, is where I feel most myself: a space of surrender and a life-giving space. This relationship with the natural world often seeps into my writing, lending it a contemplative and immersive quality. I am also a feline parent, and this quiet and independent companionship mirrors the emotional undercurrents I explore in my work.
Alongside my creative practice, I engage with language as both a subject and a medium. I currently serve as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of English & Cultural Studies and Department of Languages at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. My academic work spans linguistics, digital humanities, and the interplay between literature, psychology, and gender.
I have authored scholarly books, including The Lexicon-Syntax Interface: Perspectives from South Asian Languages and Hindi Verb Classes & Their Argument Structure Alternations, and have published in international platforms such as Springer, Routledge, and John Benjamins. I also work with emerging interdisciplinary areas, including NLP and digital humanities, and have contributed to curriculum design in these domains.
At the core of everything I do is a synthesis of the intellectual and the intimate. These are not separate pursuits, but intertwined ways of understanding and shaping the world.
I write to breathe and to feel alive.
