Mawalam's poetry is full of love; the love of his Lord
He had pure love of Allah
Mawalam's poetry is full of love; the love of his Lord
He had pure love of Allah
Blessed is the eye that cries out for Him (God)
Blessed is the heart that burns for him
There is laughter after every cry
Blessed is the man who watches over the end
Wherever the water is flowing, it is green
Wherever there are tears, there is mercy

Better Days Are Coming
Poet: Wish Belkin
If you fear losing somebody you love
like rejection would be no surprise
even if they never said it out loud
you just knew by the look in their eyes
accept that anxiety is due to some action
we took while sleepwalking through life
we would be lying if we tried denying
we cause our own misery and strife.
There is a voice inside of our heads
that tells us of what is to come
deja vu turned upside down
is what it may seem like to some
whether it's foresight or just premonition
it leaves you feeling quite strange
whisper or shout, it allows for no doubt
that your fortunes are due for a change.
The cyclical nature of the human condition
prevents us from being at ease
it bars the door to the peace that we seek
it's a lock without any keys
hope and fear are two sides of a coin
a little like Abel and Cane
it's not every day that just one will hold sway
in the end it adds up to the same.
Listen to this then, if you should find
your emotions won't give you a breather
I'm telling you, dreams don't often come true
but the nightmares rarely do either.
Quitting Is Not The Way
Poet: Julie Hebert
Go ahead and quit, if you can't see it through.
But don't come crying to me, when quitting is all you do.
Those who start to quit, when things start getting tough.
Start to see quitting, as a way to get out of stuff.
They never stick things through, and can't complete a thing.
Is this the type of person, you see yourself being?
Quitters never win, no matter what you've heard.
Have you ever heard a quitter, that is picked to be referred?
Of course that would be silly, why would someone refer?
Someone who can't even accomplish, they are their own saboteurs.
Next time you want to quit, think who you want to be.
Quitters never win, I want more than this for thee.
I want to see success, surround you every day.
I want you to be happy, and want to scream hooray!
I want you in a job, that makes you're world so good.
I want the work you do, feel just like childhood.
But most of all I want, to see you see things through.
But not because you should, because you really want too.
And I realize you may be scared, that you can't see it through.
But I'm hear to tell you, you can, do anything you put your mind to.
Don't Give It Up
Poet: Z. Vujcic, © 2007
Today life gave you another slap
but don't give it up
throwing your towel in the ring
for things gone wrong, for words that sting
'cos there must be another way
you will see it in the light of another day
When everything seems sour, not in your favour
look around until you find better flavour
so, don't just give but live it up
pick up the pieces, be tough
grind your teeth and turn another cheek
don't give it up, that's exactly what they seek
It's too easy to walk away
quitter never wins so you should better stay
look challenges straight in the eye
don't say yet the last good-bye
fight like an animal in a trap
but don't give it up
Keep-A-Trying
Poet: Nixon Waterman
Say "I will!" and then stick to it--
That's the only way to do it.
Don't build up a while and then
Tear the whole thing down again.
Fix the goal you wish to gain,
Then go at it heart and brain,
And, though clouds shut out the blue,
Do not dim your purpose true
With your sighing.
Stand erect, and, like a man,
Know "They can who think they can!"
Keep a-trying.
Had Columbus, half seas o'er,
Turned back to his native shore,
Men would not, to-day, proclaim
Round the world his deathless name.
So must we sail on with him
Past horizons far and dim,
Till at last we own the prize
That belongs to him who tries
With faith undying;
Own the prize that all may win
Who, with hope, through thick and thin
Keep a-trying.
Failure
Poet: Edgar Guest
Failure is ceasing to try!
"Tis accepting defeat
And to all you may meet
Giving voice to a sigh;
"Tis in thinking it vain
To attempt furthermore
And in bowing to pain
When the muscles grow sore.
Failure is stepping aside
From the burnt of the fray
In a weak-hearted way,
Being content to abide
In the shadows that fall,
And in being afraid
Out of life, after all,
Nothing's left to be made.
Failure is thinking despair,
The forsaking of hope,
And refusal to cope
With the day's round of care,
It's in heeding the cry,
"All is lost!" and to stay
With defeat and not try
For the happier day.
