Research Interests: My research sits at the intersection of applied econometrics and development economics, with a regional focus on the Arab and Mediterranean world. I work on foreign direct investment, finance-growth dynamics, firm productivity, and the political economy of governance and democratic transitions. More recently, I have built a dedicated agenda on sustainability and green finance, examining the institutional and regulatory drivers of green bond issuance, greenwashing, and climate-related financial risk.
