Economist | Econometrician | Policy Advisor | Development Researcher
Riadh Ben Jelili's research covers applied econometrics, economic development, international trade, economic growth, foreign direct investment and institutional governance. His recent work focuses particularly on green finance, corporate green bonds, economic sovereignty, foreign investment attractiveness and the political economy of democratic transitions in the Arab world.
Beyond academia, Riadh Ben Jelili spent 16 years working in multilateral policymaking across the Arab region. As Director of Research at the Arab Investment and Export Credit Guarantee Corporation from 2012 to 2021, he led research on foreign direct investment, country risk and macroeconomic developments, transforming economic analysis into actionable policy recommendations.
Previously, as Economic Advisor at the Arab Planning Institute from 2005 to 2012, he provided technical assistance to governments on regional development, economic reform and strategies for sustainable and competitive growth.
His teaching draws directly on his experience in applied research and economic policy. The econometric models and analytical tools presented in his courses are the same instruments he has used to study investment decisions, evaluate country risk and support public policy.
He welcomes collaboration with researchers, universities, international organizations and public institutions committed to rigorous economic analysis, sustainable development and inclusive governance.
