The Fiddler crab
There are several different species of fiddler crab found throughout Borneo. The male fiddler crab has one claw that is much larger than the other.
The Rafflesia flower
The rafflesia is the world's largest bloom and can be over 100cm in diameter. It only grows in a few places on earth. One of those places is the rain-forests of Borneo.
The Mosquito
Malaysian rainforests of Borneo are considered a biodiversity hotspot and Borneo is estimated to be the home of over 400 species of mosquitoes

Asian giant forest scorpion
ts venom can cause severe pain, and mild numbness in the affected area, but it is not typically lethal to humans.
Stick insect
Stick insect species, often called walking sticks, range in size from the tiny, half-inch-long Timema cristinae of North America, to the formidable 13-inch-long
Diving bird
Some of the world's best diving can be found in Borneo, namely around Sipadan where reefs teem with fish, sharks and turtles.
Great Tapah -Catfish
It can grow up to 2 m (6 ft 7 in) in length and weigh up to 150 kg (330 lb).
The Lantern Fly
Lantern Flies are a kind of leafhopper, which have a large protrusion from the head resembling a snout, and large bulbous body.
Ticks
Ticks are vectors in the transmission of many important infectious diseases in human and animals.
Flora
Borneo has about 3,000 species of trees, more than 1,700 species of orchids (some of the most beautiful being the rarest and most endangered).
The Frog
Borneo covers more than 100 species, each with an easy to access page, biological information, color image of adult, and many of them with color images of their larval forms.
The Giant Squid
Giant squid live up to their name: the largest giant squid ever recorded by scientists was almost 43 feet (13 meters) long, and may have weighed nearly a ton.
The Elusive Spider
In 2018 students on a field course in Borneo have made a remarkable discovery, describing the elusive male Opadometa sarawakensis spider for the first time.
The Giant Prawn
The giant prawn can grow to a length over 30 cm (12 in). They are predominantly brownish in colour, but can vary. Smaller individuals may be greenish and display faint vertical stripes.
