The assignment below demonstrated my ability to use Graphic, Planning & Organizing, and Research & Reference tools in a recruitment and hiring process. I created a Canva graphic for a job fair at AIDB, where a fictional candidate, Melendi Morton, applied for a STEM Teacher position. Using Google Calendar, I scheduled an interview, set reminders, and adjusted my work location. I then utilized Evernote to compile a Candidate Note with the applicant’s resume, contact details, interview insights, and onboarding steps, streamlining the hiring workflow.
For the Canva graphic, I started with a pre-made template to ensure a professional layout. I then customized it by incorporating the AIDB logo, ensuring the branding was clear and recognizable. To maintain consistency, I adjusted the color scheme to match the organization's branding, using its official colors for a cohesive look. I kept the design simple and easy to read, ensuring that key details stood out without overwhelming the viewer. The final graphic was eye-catching and effective, making the job fair announcement engaging and professional.
In Google Calendar, I meticulously planned and organized the STEM Teacher hiring process by scheduling key events and setting reminders. I first created an interview event, ensuring the date, time, and location were clearly set. I added notifications to remind me beforehand and included the interview details in the event description. I also utilized task reminders to ensure preparedness. Lastly, I adjusted my working location to "Home" to reflect the remote work proceeding the interview.
In Evernote, I created a Candidate Note to track the hiring process for our fictional STEM Teacher applicant, Melendi Morton. This note included links to their resume, email, and LinkedIn profile for easy access. I also documented interview questions, first impressions, and the hiring decision in an organized format. Additionally, I outlined onboarding steps, ensuring a smooth transition. Evernote's search and tagging features made retrieving information effortless.

Engaging and effective adult education requires a careful mix of theory, technology, creativity, and best practices. Brian Washburn’s Periodic Table of Learning Elements provides a structured way for educators to explore and combine these elements to create impactful learning experiences. Modeled after the periodic table, his framework categorizes training tools and strategies—such as instructional design, visual aids, and even PowerPoint—into solids, liquids, gases, radioactive, and interactive elements. This approach helps educators, especially in adult learning, to understand what’s possible, avoid common pitfalls, and design training that is both engaging and effective. Whether you’re new to instructional design or a seasoned educator, this resource offers fresh ideas and practical guidance for enhancing learning programs.
