"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." – Helen Keller
Family is at the heart of everything I do. My husband, Dewayne, is a dedicated Machine Tool Tech teacher at Snead State and a proud Marine. Together, we love spending time crafting and playing tabletop games, which bring out our creativity and competitive spirit.
Our son, Trent, serves in the Air Force, and we couldn’t be prouder of his dedication. He is married to Heather, a wonderful stay-at-home mom who cares for our grandsons, Carter and Cayden. Watching them grow and thrive is a joy that fills our hearts.
Our daughter, Daisy, is 20 and thriving in college. She’s about to begin nursing school, a path she’s worked hard for while balancing her job at Publix, where she’s been employed since she was 17. She has a wonderful boyfriend, Lex, an art student at UAB, who shares our family’s passion for creativity.
Our youngest, Joe, is 13 and in the 8th grade. A true gamer at heart, he enthusiastically dives into the digital world. Recently, Daisy has started teaching him how to cook, adding another skill to his growing interests. Watching them bond over shared learning experiences is one of the greatest joys of parenthood.
Family, learning, and creativity are the pillars of our lives, shaping every experience and strengthening our connections.
For this introductory video assignment, I created a short video to share a little about myself. In the video, I included details about my background, interests, and goals, along with images that represent important aspects of my life. This assignment was a great way to practice video creation while also connecting with my classmates in a more personal way. By sharing a bit about myself and learning about others through their videos, I gained insight into the diverse experiences and perspectives within our class.
