MILESTONE TASK LIST
FOLIAGE AND DECAL
Most (70%) of the foliage has been completed and integrated into the scene. This includes grass, palm trees, algae, PNG background foliage, and flowers. Need to make some adjustments to some of the foliage like the palm trees and edit their UVs so they fit properly on the meshes.
There needs to be some adjustment to their collisions and layout but nothing too major anymore.
PARTICLES AND MOVEMENT
Particles and code for movement has been added in engine. This includes animated and custom Niagara systems for falling leaves and birds in the distance. There is also a SimpleGrassMovement added to the palm leaves and the ground foliage like grass and algae in the water.
Torches were also added with emissive textures and a light fire particle to give the scene more energy.
STILL NEEDED:
Collision Boxes need to be added on the water to prevent player from falling off path.
A few more particles and adjustments to player path for clarity.
Fix skybox to be a bit darker for stronger contrast.
SKYBOX
The skybox was having seam issues and warping along with resolution, so I adjusted the color of the skybox and fixed its seam issues by redoing the skybox in Adobe Fresco.
PLAYER ADJUSTMENTS/QUALITY OF LIFE
Player path was easily disrupted, so collision boxes where needed and fences were placed to make the player path and beats more clear. There were also minor adjustments to player speed and scaling of objects in the world.
COLLISIONS
Many objects were having collision problems and many of them were easily resolved by not having collision like the foliage or decals. Alongside some other adjustments to the collision of preexisting meshes that may not have had them finished properly before.
ADDITIONAL CHANGES
Lights needed adjusting in the homes (some were a bit too bright.)
Final adjustments to textures/untextured objects. Untextured meshes are now textured.
Distant landscape felt empty so small facade trees and decals were added in the distance to give illusion of volume.
Particles for leaves had a color adjustment to fit in better with the environment.
Smoke in chimneys were adjusted to better suit the environment and style.
Added a bit more foliage.
End of bridge building is able to be entered.
Post process was adjusted on player path for more visual clarity.
