The Humboldt Foundation offers fellowships for researchers from other countries to conduct research with a host from a German university. Please contact me if you would like to apply for a fellowship to work with me a on a research topic that broadly falls within my domains of expertise. Fellowships are available for postdoctoral and (more) experienced researchers and cover a period between 6 and 24 months (in a single or split into multiple stays in Germany).
The Humboldt Research Fellowship is available for researchers from all countries
The Georg Forster Research Fellowship is available for researchers from developing and transition countries (proposals in this funding line need to make a case for how the proposed researched supports these countries; if such a case can be made, eligible applicants should opt for this programme rather than the general fellowship)
The German Academic Exchange Service also offers fellowships for one to six months (on halt as of Oct 2024) and, in another funding line, one to three months
Researchers at risk (i.e. who were forced to leave their country of origin) may be eligible for the Philipp Schwartz Initiative. Applications require a 'threat assessment' and are usually possible every year in early March, which means requires starting the process at the end of the previous year.
If you are interested, please send me your CV, list of publications and (preliminary) proposal (please closely follow these guidelines on how to write a successful research proposal)
For applications for Humboldt fellowships, I will need to submit a letter of support as your host. For this letter, I will need your input (several bullet points) on each of the points mentioned here.
The German Academic Exchange Service also offers one-year scholarships for PhD students as well as full scholarships for PhD students from developing countries.
