In February 2024, I took up an appointment as Professor of Applied English Linguistics at the University of Bonn (more information on my working group's website). Before that, I was Associate Professor of English Linguistics at the Department of English, University of Hamburg, and Research Ass. Professor at the Hong Kong Baptist University.

• In 2023, we started working on a project on Young German Learner English: Complexity, Accuracy and Fluency in Beginner & Intermediate EFL, funded by the DFG/German Research Foundation, in collaboration with PD Dr. Valentin Werner (Bamberg) and Dr. Anna Rosen (Freiburg).

• We are continuing work in our project on The Impact of Public Discourse on Health Care Utilization during the COVID-19 Pandemic, funded by the DFG/German Research Foundation, in collaboration with Prof. Jonas Schreyögg and Dr. Esra Bayindir, Hamburg Center for Health Economics 

• An edited volume on Speech Rhythm in Learner and Second Language Varieties of English  appeared in 2023 in Springer's Prosody, Phonology and Phonetics series.
