Most of our campus murals were created in 2016, as part of the Branded Arts RFK Mural Festival. Branded Arts is a group that produces art installations all over the world, and they partnered with the RFK Community Schools and LAUSD to transform our campus. Artists were commissioned to paint murals during a span of one week, from May 23–27, 2016, with the help of students. This project aimed to promote the arts and inspire creativity. Check out more photos of the murals, a video from the festival, and an LA Times article about the festival.
Several portraits of notable UCLA alumni are on display in our library, as part of the UCLA: Our Stories, Our Impact initiative. Come view the work by Gabe Gault, Ernesto Yerena, and Mer Young, and try our scavenger hunt!
The Robert F. Kennedy Inspiration Park is located on the Wilshire Blvd. edge of campus. It features the "Ripple of Hope" Gateway, a piece by May Sun that pays tribute to Robert F. Kennedy's 1966 Day of Affirmation Address (also known as the "Ripple of Hope" Speech). Learn more about May Sun's inspiration and process in this short interview.
