Overview

We are pleased to announce a call for papers for a special issue of the Review of Corporate Finance focused on the theme of Decentralized Finance (DeFi). This special issue aims to explore the transformative potential of DeFi and its role as the future of finance. Decentralized finance utilizes blockchain technology to create open and transparent financial systems that operate independently of traditional intermediaries such as banks and financial institutions. Decentralized finance has gained significant traction in recent years, attracting billions of dollars in investments and reshaping the financial landscape. Instead of relying on centralized authorities, DeFi leverages decentralized networks, smart contracts, and digital assets to offer a range of innovative financial applications. This special issue aims to delve into the reasons behind the rapid growth and widespread adoption of DeFi and its implications for the future of the financial industry.
