The NSF REU-AUV program at the University of Idaho offers an intensive 10-week hands-on research experience in autonomous unmanned vehicles (AUVs) for environmental monitoring and sampling. This innovative program combines online preparation with immersive in-person research, designed to inspire the next generation of STEM professionals.
Program Structure:
Hybrid Format: 2 weeks online + 8 weeks in-person in Boise, Idaho
Research Focus: Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs, drones), Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs, ground robots), Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV, unmanned watercraft)
Application: Environmental monitoring and sampling in a changing climate
Cohort Size: 10 talented undergraduate students
