Eligible Applicants:

• ✓ Currently enrolled undergraduate students

• ✓ U.S. citizens or permanent residents

• ✓ All majors welcome in Engineering and/or Environmental Science)

• ✓ Available for full 10-week summer program (May through August)

• ✓ No prior robotics experience required, but preferably sophomore and junior students!

Eligible Applicants:

• 🎯 Students with limited research opportunities at home institutions

Academic Fields: Aerospace Engineering | Agricultural Engineering | Civil Engineering | Environmental Engineering | Mechanical Engineering | Electrical and Electronical Engineering | Computer Science | Environmental Science | Related STEM disciplines 

Required Materials:

2. Personal Statement (2 pages max)

• Your interest in AUVs and environmental research

• Career goals and how REU-AUV supports them

• Relevant coursework and experiences

3. Academic Transcript (unofficial acceptable)

4. Two Letters of Recommendation

• At least one from STEM faculty member

5. Resume/CV

Application Timeline:

1. Application portal opens NOW

2. February 28, 2026: Application deadline

3. Early March, 2026: Finalist interviews (virtual)

4. Mid-March, 2026: Acceptance notification

5. April, 2026: Travel logistics support and arrangements

6. May, 2026: Program begins
