Platinum’s goals of ultimate power and control of the complex links of the universe brought her in direct contact with the Buttons, birthing her new name and forever changing the lives of the entire Restarting Systems cast. She’s an egomaniac that refuses to stand down in the face of any kind of adversary, especially when it's the kind that gets in the way of her goal--shaping the world into the image that she sees fit.

A beacon of light, Gold sacrificed his life thousands of years ago to keep Platinum contained within a meteor and to stabilize the Other Realm, but his separation left him unable to counter her return in the present day. He was able to provide Smoke with critical support before returning him home, but his voice has once again since vanished.

Gold Button is essential to the restoration of the Other Realm and the defeat of Platinum Button, and it has become the goal of the Button Formation to try and trigger that golden spark once more.
