We aim to get a whistle and directions into every person's hands in Marin. Along with collective coordinated action to protect our immigrant neighbors, we believe everyone in Marin can help in the event of an ICE attack on our community. The Whistle Project is one way to enable each of us to stand up for each other.
Several of us have adopted corners where day laborers hang out to wait for jobs. Most have come from other countries and are at risk of being abducted by ICE. We offer food, water, and information about the Marin Rapid Response Network, immigrant legal services, and other resources available.
We began protesting when DOGE began gutting our governmental agencies and oversight agencies early in 2025, and when Texas threatened to add 5 new GOP House of Representatives, we supported Proposition 50 to compensate for their attempt to rig the national elections. Now with the building of corporate detention centers and rounding up of people off the street by ICE, we stand with our immigrant neighbors. Civil Disobedience is just one of the many essential ways to push back on the attacks on our constitutional rights.
We have been at the Sunday - San Rafael Marin Civic Center Farmers Market from 7:30 am - 12:30 pm since August 2025. Our table is located in the Free Speech Zone, at the first entrance closest to the Civic Center, just beyond the parking lots. We share voting information, immigrant rights resources, Whistle Packets, the MRRN (Marin Rapid Response Network) number (415) 991.4545, and a weekly list of resistance actions we can take here in Marin.
Everywhere we go, we share information about the Marin Rapid Response Network (MRRN) housed in the Multicultural Center of Marin in San Rafael. This is the backbone of efforts to protect our immigrant neighbors.
