Sample Email: Contacting Interview Subjects

Be respectful when writing to potential interview subjects. We created an example you can use to contact potential interviewees for more information on a topic or to do an oral history interview.  

After you’ve contacted and spoken with an interviewee, either for resources or to do an oral interview, please write a handwritten thank-you note. Also, if the interviewee expressed interest in seeing your final project, we recommend you share your project with them before the History Day contest and after it is over.
