Practice Effective Teaching (PET) Program, Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, Virginia Tech (Fall 2024)
Participated in a semester-long program focused on evidence-based teaching and learning strategies. The program emphasized effective instructional practices, student engagement, and reflective teaching. As part of the program, I conducted peer reviews of classes taught by renowed faculty across diverse disciplines, including economics, engineering, and the arts to see the application of strategies taught in the workshop.
Participated in Course Design Clinic, Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, Virginia Tech (Summer 2024).
Participated in a two-day workshop focused on planning and developing effective syllabi that integrate diverse assessment tools and promote informed use of advanced technologies in teaching.
Additional Lecturing Experiences
Delivered a lecture for high school teachers as part of the PDAL program, focusing on the use of user-friendly interactive dashboards to enhance classroom engagement and make learning more enjoyable for students.
Delivered three lectures as part of the DSPG program for undergraduate interns (mostly rising seniors): two lectures on Version Control, and one on using LaTeX for document preparation and creating graphics.
