The petition that started this movement (below) echoes the content of numerous statements produced by faculty bodies, college governance structures, and NEASC (NECHE) beginning in 2017. View them here:
In 2019, we gathered over 1400 signatures in support of our anti-consolidation petition, ten of the twelve Community Colleges and two of four State Universities passed resolutions of No Confidence in the "Students First" Consolidation, the BOR and President Ojakian. Dozens of Articles and Resolutions were authored. We testified at legislative forums. Those on statewide committees presented recommendations and resolutions, working hard to salvage the plan- to no avail.
