Art is a popular choice for students at Bishop Challoner School. GCSE Art & Design is taught from Year 10 onwards. 

The work in the online exhibition comprises a selection of pieces from our Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 students, our current Year 11 GCSE group and our A Level Student.

Identity is the overall theme that our GCSE students are inspired by and engage with, partly through an exploration of portraiture. The exhibits include examples of portraits students have created in the style of artists they have been influenced by. The artwork our students create at all Key Stages often illustrates their diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Our curriculum enables students to explore and work in a wide range of media which includes three-dimensional work, ceramics and printmaking.

Students at all Key Stages actively seek inspiration from artists’ work as a departure point to develop their own ideas, techniques and handling of materials.
