About Us
The Cause Collective is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization a part of the FQN Community Network that has been sponsoring dozens of community programs since 2006. Cause Collective Community is an umbrella organization structured as a Collaborative of sponsored programs where each program gets a vote on the Council that shares decision making with the Board of Directors as the primary oversight. The Role
As a Board member, you'll be responsible for supporting our sponsored programs as there is no separate purpose for the umbrella corporation. The Board of Directors is legally responsible for the accountability of the programs, and financial stability of the umbrella non-profit. Please note that this position is unpaid and is not responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization.
Board Duties
Board duties mainly consist of learning about new programs and any situation that arises, and then voting to make the best decision in the moment. As an umbrella entity that focuses on sponsoring various programs, the legal fiduciary role of individual Board members is to vote in the best interest of the programs themselves. This means that the primary role of the Board is oversight to ensure the Program decisions meet all legal requirements. Most decision-making processes will happen through email voting. Time commitment is minimal as Board members may vote as little as once or twice per year, or as often as a few times a month depending on the needs of the programs.
