Mock Interview

Here is an example of the types of questions that can be asked during fieldwork for this project

• What is the name of the village where you came from?

• Where were you born?

• Who are the people that lived there?

• What does community mean to you?

• What are some ways people helped each other in the community?

• What did you like about your community?

• What information do you think is important for others to know about your community?

To conduct an interview you will need someone to ask the questions, a second person to drop pins in Google Earth Pro to mark locations, and a third person to transcribe the answers during the interview.

• Make sure that you have a consistent script and that all questions are based on a location

• Number the locations to correspond to the questions so that you can match up map locations with answers

• Use folders in Google Earth Pro to organize all of the locations marked for each interviewee

• Make sure you save your My Places and download the KMZ as a back up before closing Google Earth Pro
