Morpeth School Art Department

Morpeth is a large 11-18 co-educational school in Bethnal Green. Our art department has a strong team of 7 (including our great technicians) offering both art and photography at GCSE and A level. We have a two-year KS3 and teach our GCSE option courses in one year.

The department’s ethos is very much about encouraging young people to respond to their experiences and making real life connections with the world around them. We have collected an extensive range of resources and our classrooms provide a visually exciting environment within which to work.

The work shown here has been created this academic year. Pupils have explored various themes from narrative, the unexpected and our connection to the environment, and have asked questions about the way we live. If you make a piece of work and then talk about it, we learn something new. Work produces knowledge.
