Designed dynamic social media strategies that combined data-driven insights, captivating visuals, and compelling copy to amplify engagement and grow vibrant online communities.
Creating content for a personal coaching business with no prior online or digital presence was quite challenging. As a small startup, there was no team to collaborate with, leaving me to single-handedly manage all aspects of the social media strategy. Despite the lack of resources, the CEO and founder of the business was immensely helpful by being forthcoming about the intentions and goals of his brand, and granting me full creative autonomy. His passion for changing lives through his life coaching programmes provided valuable insight into the essence of the business, which guided my strategy.
STEP #1. Understanding the Brand’s Vision and Goals
First, I immersed myself in the founder's vision and the purpose behind his life coaching programs. By having in-depth conversations with the CEO, I gained a clear understanding of his passion for changing lives and the unique value his coaching brought to clients. This foundation allowed me to ensure that all content aligned with the brand’s purpose and values.
STEP #2. Research and Industry Analysis
I conducted thorough research into the life coaching industry to understand audience preferences, competitor strategies, and emerging trends. I identified key content themes and visual styles that resonated with the target audience (which were people who wanted a big career change or retirees). This analysis provided insight into the type of messaging and design that could effectively position the brand in a competitive space.
STEP #3. Building and Executing a Content Strategy
Using the insights from my research, I crafted a content strategy tailored to the business’s goals. This involved creating a mix of motivational posts, client testimonials, and informative content designed to inspire, educate, and engage. I also developed a visually cohesive design for Instagram and Facebook, utilizing high-quality visuals, relatable storytelling (centered around the idea of a "Second Act" in life), and action-oriented captions to drive engagement. A content calendar was implemented to ensure consistency in posting and to maintain a regular connection with the audience.
STEP #4. Testing, Analyzing, and Refining the Approach
As the strategy unfolded, I closely monitored engagement metrics such as likes, shares, comments, and website clicks. By analyzing this data, I identified trends and adjusted the strategy to amplify what worked best. For example, posts that featured personal transformation stories from clients saw higher engagement and were integrated more frequently into the content plan. Regular adjustments ensured that the strategy remained effective and aligned with audience preferences.
By aligning the content strategy with the founder’s vision and the audience’s interests, I successfully established a vibrant online presence for the coaching business. Engagement rates on posts steadily increased, and the platforms began to serve as effective lead-generation tools. What started as a non-existent digital footprint transformed into a good online brand that resonated with the founder’s mission. My ability to adapt, innovate, and execute strategies single-handedly proved instrumental in overcoming the challenges and delivering measurable results for the brand.
